INTERNATIONAL ADOPTION FAIR Q & A

The First United Methodist Church
227 East Fulton, Grand Rapids, MI.

Who should attend?
The fair will be great for anyone considering international adoption, anyone in the process of adopting, and adoptive parents.

Will it cost me anything to attend?
No, the International Adoption Fair is free of charge to anyone who wishes to attend.

Is there parking available?
There is plenty of parking at First United Methodist Church. There is a small lot behind the church, a larger lot across the street by First Place (off Barclay).  There is also additional parking at the Masonic Temple.

Will adoption agencies be at the fair?
We have invited several adoption agencies to be involved in our fair. Attendees will have the opportunity to gather information and speak with agency professionals regarding their current international adoption programs.

How much time should I allow to attend?
While it is possible to attend one or two sessions, we would recommend that participants plan on attending the full four hours in order to get all the necessary information they need.

Would I have the opportunity to talk with other adoptive parents?
Yes, we have invited several of our adoptive families with various adoption stories and journeys to be on hand to talk with. We will also provide two sessions that will be devoted to asking adoptive parents any questions regarding adoption that you might have.

Will there be childcare available?
We are unable to provide child care services for the fair. We would recommend that you arrange your own child care for the time.

Is there a schedule of events?
Yes, we have provided a listing of the scheduled events to make it easier for you r to plan your time at the fair.

Will there be food provided?
We will have light snack foods and drinks available during the fair.
